Same heartbeat, more muscle. The 6th generation Black OPS continues to build on its legendary heritage, with aggressive design and unmistakable style enhanced by increased tactical material and features. CNC machined G10 and aircraft grade aluminum provide the chassis with a rugged foundation, to which super tough black type III “hard anodized” coating is added for a non-glare, field ready finish. We also introduce the next level of our proprietary DropShock™ technology, expanded to provide impact-absorbing benefits beyond the corners and across the entire case body. Lightweight and low bulk, Black OPS delivers the ultimate in covert protection.
NOTE: Wireless charging works with Black OPS X when belt clip is removed.
Exclusive impact absorbing three-layer design (aluminum, polycarbonate, TPU) dissipates energy to withstand extreme impact.
Side rails on the chassis are CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminum, then bead blasted and “hard anodized” for a super tough stealth finish.
CNC machined military grade glass composite used to create a chassis that resists twisting and bending.
CNC machined aluminum buttons protect iPhone controls while providing quick and easy use of volume and on/off functions.
PVD coated stainless steel with extended length for additional grip and deeper fit into pockets.
Featuring heavy duty 600D nylon construction and a velcro closure top, this easy carry, quick-draw ready pouch protects your phone from the elements.
The ultimate degree of protection—10 stainless steel screws secure the aluminum side rails to the DropShock™ Body (EC Hex Tool included).
Exceeds military specification drop-test requirements.
MOLLE (pronounced /ˈmɒl.liː/, as in the female name) is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment. It is used to define the current generation of load-bearing equipment and backpacks utilized by a number of NATO armed forces, especially the British Army and the United States Army. The system uses rows of heavy-duty nylon stitched webbing for the attachment of various MOLLE-compatible pouches and accessories.
Soft Touch is a premium, durable spray coating applied to high end electronic device enclosures and other consumer goods. As it's name implies, Soft Touch is soft to the touch with a velvety smooth or suede feel. Typically applied to formed parts in a secondary process, Soft Touch is a spray on process requiring a strictly controlled environment to get desired results of scratch and mar resistance, adhesion, and even surface finish.
Stainless steel is a blend of corrosion resistant steels with key ingredients being chromium and nickel. Its high strength and hardening properties make it one of the most durable steel alloys available. 304 stainless steel has excellent formability and is very high on the appearance scale. 304 stainless steel is not very electrically or thermally conductive and is non-magnetic.
Aluminum is a chemical element in the Boron group. Aluminum metal alloys are low in density and possess an incredible strength to weight ratio. 6 and 7 series aluminum are widely used in aircraft industry, automotive performance parts, and portable computing devices because of its formability, rigidity, and lightness.
G10 glass composites are unclad materials comprised of different resin systems incorporating glass weave as a reinforcement. G10 laminate exhibits excellent electrical (non-conductive), mechanical (high strength) and chemical performance characteristics. Because of this, G10 laminates are widely uses in aerospace, automotive, electronic, industrial and petroleum industries.
Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a flexible polyurethane plastics with outstanding properties, including elasticity, transparency, resistance to oil, and abrasion. TPU has many applications including automotive instrument panels, caster wheels, power tools, sporting goods, medical devices, drive belts, footwear, inflatable rafts, and protective covers for mobile devices.
Polycarbonates (PC) are a group of thermoplastic polymers containing carbonate groups in their chemical structures. Polycarbonates used in engineering are strong, tough materials, and some grades are optically transparent. They are easily worked, molded, and thermoformed. Because of these properties, polycarbonates find many applications which include bullet proof glass, protective eyewear, motorcycle wind screens.
Computer Numeric Control (CNC) is the automation of machine tools that are operated by precisely programmed commands encoded on a storage medium (computer command module, usually located on the device). Machining is a form of subrative manufacturing. A process in which a piece of raw material (metal, wood, plastic, etc.) is cut into a desired final shape and size by a controlled material-removal process.
Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. Anodizing prevents thread from galling and promotes adhesion of most adhesives and paints. Aluminum is ideally suited to anodizing and color dyes can be added to the process for decorative applications.
Hard Anodizing (Type III) is similar to standard anodizing in that both are controlled electrochemical processes. The key difference is that hard coat anodizing provides a surface that is more wear resistant and has a smoother and harder surface than standard anodizing. During the hard coat anodizing process, a uniform aluminum oxide layer is formed on the surface that penetrates into the material. Because of its extremely durable surface, hard anodizing is used widely in military and aerospace applications.
